Hmm. This weekend kinda just zipped by. For lack of a better quantification system, I shall list my purchases and hope that my weekend was longer and that it was better spent than I am imagining it to be right now. One CD, one magazine, four LR44 batteries, four books (1, 2, 3, 4), one movie ticket (boring, and I wanted to kick the four talkative idiots in the row before us), a goood crabbbbb lunch and a nice cup of pearl milk tea. My backlog of books is getting ridiculous, but I am really so good at buying them that it seems a waste to stop.
Hmm. That is quite depressing. I think I need an extra day for my weekends. Of course, I can always kick the addiction to ‘Word Challenge’, and I can stop unscrambling words or see words in words (you know, like there is ‘nose’ in ’snores’. And ‘rose’ and ‘nos’ and ‘ore(s)’ and ‘res’ and ’son(s)’ and ’sore(s)’ and ’sen’ etc). And I can fall asleep without thinking that I missed out ’tile(s)’ in my last game. And that I can read a magazine article without thinking that ‘aspen’ is probably a word I’ve never used in the game.
Hmm. Set out to write an entry about nights, but instead, this has turned out to be this. But aren’t nights marvellous? Everything ceases their bustle and switches off their lights. The slightly eerie glow of lone fluorescent tubes in dark alleys. People who sleep in these alleys, completely nonchalant about lively cockroaches and other miscellaneous insects and animals, but so wary of our human mean-no-harm footsteps. Strangers who become people in the absence of day, who become people who shake our hands, volunteer their friends for our cameras, and then amble off, laughing and laughing.

yee: haha, it is madness! oh, yup, i got emmy the great at hmv city hall. cheap! 18.95. in comparison, aimee mann costs 39 bucks. ouch.

i bought “smilers” quite a while ago (and downloaded it too… that’s why i was asking about d/l on twitter) using border’s gift cards.
oh, i found melanie pain’s album at gramophone at about $18.95 too. there were 2 copies at the one in cathay. i bought one of them.
cat socrates is kinda cool. been there twice (once outside only, playing with an umbrella on sale) but never the cafe. maybe i should go again soon. yeah, a lot of chinese books/stuff… my mind automatically shuts off, obviously. haha…

SH: heh, but the chinese books are quite affordable. bought 2 for 15? not even enough to get an english copy. you have NW in those versions? ahhhhhh.
yee: i know that umbrella! haha, thought it was quite cute (but i have too many umbrellas, umm). btw, do you find that the borders music selection is getting miserable? i was there last week and there was much of anything. no aimee mann at all!

do you know that borders has been bought over by a new zealand company (can’t remember the name) and they recently let go quite a number of people from the merchandising side? -> not good
according to a friend who just left that place, they haven’t been purchasing much at all. it’s a mess, really. so i will suggest not going to borders anymore. in fact, i have stopped going for quite a while already (since cny cos i had borders cards to use up and i bought “smilers”. heh…).

yes, saw them when i had randomly walked into a book store in kaohsiung, and heard them calling to me. think the red & green volumes come in English as well- should check amazon!
btw, 1973 pinball is rather hard to read. or maybe it’s just that i’m worn out from work these days.
